CAD
The engineering department uses high-tech design systems, such as CAD and CAE. These software enable us to design highly complex details and to realise the development of the product, including its manufacturing. Thanks to surface and solid modelling, we make the finest forms and designs: the aim is to combine functionality and aesthetics required by the international markets.
Furthermore, we are able to make model previews, models for prototypation and provide the engineering department with all information necessary to make prototypes and moulds. STS Tecnopolimeri are specialists in using CAE systems to provide an accurate service. The above mentioned software enable us to make process or structural analysis to have at the early design stage of the process estimates on theoretical results. All this avoids making amendments and modify setup times. We also use laser scanning systems to make any geometric form or component which should be reproduced: any geometry or dimension can be done. These useful reverse-engineering tools enable us to make new models and shapes as well as making dimension comparisons between the model and the end product.
CAM
From design to model: STS Tecnopolimeri use the CAM technology which is the tool to communicate to machines in the shortest and most efficient way. The programming of CNC machines thanks to this engineering software allows to produce through machine tools and related machinery (such as milling and EDM machines) the 3D-model of moulds or any geometry.Additionally, the elimination of the manufacturing process programming next to machines has improved lead times and quality of manufacturing processes.
Manufacturing processes
The in-house tool-room and moulding shop are the corner stones of STS Tecnopolimeri. Injection moulding and CNC machines to make moulds and prototypes are continuously serviced and updated according to the quality and technological standards required by the market. The injection machines have reduced energy costs and allowed to reach technological standards which would have been unthinkable with traditional technology. 5-axis CNC machines are meant to make complicated manufacturing processes and reduce lead times simultaneously. Clamping systems guarantee higher surface quality.
Since we can process hardened and nitrided steel, ABS, PA, PBT, PPS, PSU, PS, PE, POM, PC, PMMA, BLEND, mineral fibres and composites, we are in a position to supply several sectors of industry, including home appliances, food and automotive, just to name a few. In addition to that, the company provides secondary operations whose demand has increased dramatically over the time: assembling, finishing, pad printing, screen printing as well as adhesive films have become part of an all-inclusive package for customers.
